How it Works
The Timothy Partnership is pleased to announce an exciting new mode of study for those interested in pursuing a straightforward, practical and high-quality qualification in theology. The Certificate in Theology can be studied by any Christian, anywhere. With the material covered by a combination of audio panel discussions, accessible study guides and engagement in an online community, the Certificate of Theology combines the flexibility of distance learning with the quality of an award that is issued by the Australian College of Theology. The course will take you through six subjects; three core (Old Testament, New Testament and Christian Belief), and three electives of your choosing. If two of these are the Pastoral Care electives, your Certificate in Theology will fully qualify you to work as a chaplain in schools.
Each subject only requires 35 hours of your time over a whole semester (about three hours a week), so it’s easy to fit your study in around other commitments. Two essays, plus participation in the online forums, for each subject are the only assessment tasks you’ll have to do. The Certificate is carefully designed to be as manageable, interesting and helpful as possible, so it’s a great option for anyone looking for a flexible, practical and engaging way to study the Bible.
The online, flexible delivery means no wasted travel time and you can study when and where it suits you. The Certificate is also credited as two units towards a Diploma of Theology if you choose to continue your studies.
